Paul M. Mondorff, Jr., 94, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at The Village at Utz Terrace.
Born on Sunday, July 9, 1922 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Paul M. Mondorff, Sr. and Myrtle Sneeringer Mondorff. He was the step-son of the late Charlotte Moore Mondorff, and was also preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Beulah M. Trone Mondorff, who died in 2015.
Mr. Mondorff retired in 1984 from Hanover Shoe after 43 years of service and was a member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Eagle Fire Company No. 2, the Hanover and Penn Township Fire Police, York County Firefighter Association, Pennsylvania Fire Police Association, Patmos Lodge #348 F&AM, and was a charter member of the Hanover One Quarter Midget Racing Club. A former member of the Hanover Eagles Aerie #1406, he was a life member of Penn Township Volunteer Emergency Services and Hanover Loyal Order of Moose #227.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet M. Mondorff; a son, Richard G. Mondorff and his wife, Rebecca, all of Hanover; two grandchildren, Chad E. Mondorff and his wife, Jennifer, and Carrie E. Mondorff; and two great-grandchildren, Allison and Bryce Mondorff.
The funeral will be held at 12 noon Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover, with The Rev. Kirk A. Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held one hour prior to the service.
