Paul E. “Skip” Maloney, 87, of Hanover, husband of Ruthetta Maloney, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at UPMC Hanover.
Born on Monday, June 1, 1936 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Paul A. and Bertha May Wildasin Maloney. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James Maloney. Skip retired in 1999 from the PH Glatfelter Company after 33 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the former First United Methodist Church of Hanover, AmVets Post #22, Hanover Elks BPOE Lodge # 763 and the McSherrystown Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 720, and he was an antique car enthusiast.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of nearly 67 years, are two daughters, Brenda L. Maloney of Hanover and Sharon A. Kessler and her husband, Dave, of Las Vegas, NV; two grandchildren, Jason A. Kessler and his wife, Joy, and Amy L. Fortune; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Steve Maloney and his wife, Janet, of Hanover.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway in Hanover with The Rev. Dr. B. Michael Brossman officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
