Patricia Rose Batoha, 81, of Hanover, died Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Utz Terrace following a period of declining health.
Born on April 26, 1930, she was a daughter of the late William and Salome Rutter Carbaugh and wife of the late John A. Batoha, who died in 1965. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Janie Batoha; five sisters, Josephine Wierman, Geraldine Kaehler, Helen Carbaugh, Geneva Carbaugh and Mary Ann Stremmel and six brothers, Mark, Warren, Bernard, Clinton, George and Harry Carbaugh.
A 1948 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, she was employed as a nurse’s aid for Hanover Hall for many years and later by Sears at the Hanover Mall. She was a loving mother and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include her seven children, Anthony J. Batoha of Littleton, CO, Thomas M. Batoha and his wife, Joanne of York, Frank G. Batoha and his wife, Beth of Mechanicsburg, Patrick J. Batoha of Hanover, Paul W. Batoha of York, Susan M. Long and her husband, John of Hanover and John A. Batoha of FL; five grandchildren, John, Andrew, Wesley and Wyatt Batoha and Evan Long; five great-grandchildren and two brothers, Ralph and Joe Carbaugh, both of CA.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Drive, Hanover with The Rev. Timothy D. Marcoe serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery in New Oxford with her children serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at a viewing on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 from 6 to 8 pm at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with a prayer service being held at 8 pm.
