Noelia D. “Noel” Gehrke, 83, of Littlestown, beloved wife of the late Howard M. Nance, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at UPMC Pinnacle Hanover with her family by her side.
Born on Sunday, January 17, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Dr. Leo William and Anne Graulty Dufault. She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Dean Gehrke; a son, Douglas Gehrke; and a daughter-in-law, Linda Gehrke. A graduate of Immaculata Junior College in Washington, DC, she worked as a secretary and retired from the National Security Agency in Ft. Meade, MD. An amazing mother and grandmother, Noel was known for her fun and sassy sense of humor and her glamorous style.
Survivors include a daughter, Joanne “Joey” Davis of Littlestown; a son, Matthew Gehrke and his wife, Cheryl, of Reading; two step-daughters, Elizabeth “Beth” Hartung of Glen Burnie, MD, and Cynthia Nance of Atlanta, GA; nine grandchildren, Danielle, Samantha, Timothy, Christopher, Joe, Zachary, Amy, Jessica and Melonie; a sister, Andrea Galvin; a brother, Gerard Dufault; and several nieces and nephews.
In compliance with health and public safety directives, services for Noelia will be private but will be live streamed starting at 1 PM on Saturday, January 23, 2021.
