Nathaniel “Nate” Robert Topper, 27, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Friday, December 4, 2009 at York Hospital following a sudden injury.



Born on May 8, 1982 in Hanover, he was the son of Robert and Kathleen Long Topper of Hanover. He attended Hanover High School and was an employee of Utz Quality Foods for almost six years, where he worked alongside his father. He was a race car enthusiast, driving an All-American Outlaw Car #6 and Thunder Car #6. He also raced at Lincoln Motor Speedway, Trail Ways Sports Club and Bumps N Berms BMX Track. He was a kind-hearted, devoted man, who enjoyed spending time with his two young sons. He loved to take them to Allen’s Kartway and enjoyed working with them to restore his cars.



In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sons, Devin Robert Topper and Tyler Matthew Topper, both of East Berlin; a brother, Capt. Robert Topper, Jr. and his wife, Angela of Fort Bragg, NC; a sister, Amanda Topper of Hanover; nieces and nephews, Olivia Topper, Otis and Charlee Wildasin and Mason and Layla Topper; and an aunt, Betty Smith and her husband, Donald of New Oxford. He preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Long and his paternal grandparents, Robert Topper and Loretta Toomey Topper.



The funeral will be held 11:30 am Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Cross Keys Fellowship Church, 785 Berlin Road, New Oxford, with Pastor Allen Joines officiating. The viewing will be from 10 to 11:00 am Saturday at the church and the family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Hebrews Café at the church.
