Nancy A. Sanders

Nancy A. Sanders, 88, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at her home.

Born on Sunday, February 9, 1936 in Littlestown, she was a daughter of the late Saint James and Emma Jane Weimert Crabbs. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Richard E. Sanders, who died in 2021; her sister, Nadine Miller; and a step-brother, Irvin Crabbs. A 1954 graduate of Littlestown High School, she retired after more than 29 years of service from United Telephone where she was a phone operator and engineer. She was later employed by the VNA of Hanover and Spring Grove and Conewago Enterprises as a secretary. Nancy was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ where she was the treasurer of her Sunday school class and was active as a quilter and volunteer with the Toy Workshop, but most importantly, would gladly do anything that was asked of her. She was a volunteer in the Pennsylvania Room at the Guthrie Memorial Library and was a member of the Hanover High School Band Boosters in the 1970’s. Nancy enjoyed going to yard sales where she would find material for making quilts.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra D. Sanders; a sister-in-law, Virginia Sanders, both of Hanover; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00PM Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hanover with Pastor Steve Ostendorf officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
