Nancy Elizabeth Mary Kuhn

Nancy Elizabeth Mary Kuhn, 73, of Hanover, was lifted to Heaven in her parents’ arms on Thursday, August 1, 2013 from Cross Keys Village—The Brethren Home Community following a year long illness.



Born on March 23, 1940 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Alfred B. and Helen Mae Brown Kuhn. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Michael A., Alfred Paul, James V. “Barney” and Verley J. Kuhn; a sister, Helena Reck and a nephew and a niece, Peter and Helen Kuhn.



A member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, she had been employed for over 30 years with Hanover Shoe Company until they closed. Later, she worked part-time for Homewood at Plum Creek and Ames Department Store. She enjoyed crocheting, completing puzzles, painting ceramics, collecting dolls and spending time with her family. She could be found regularly playing 12 cards on Bingo night.



Survivors include her siblings, Raymond Kuhn and his wife, Dolly, William Kuhn and his wife, Margaret, Daniel Kuhn and his wife, Sandy, Shirley Kuhn, Emma Kuhn, Sharon Kuhn, Rosalie Santana and her husband, Pedro, and Gladys Myers, all of Hanover, Francis Kuhn and his wife, Dawn of East Berlin, Patrick Kuhn and his wife, Connie, Charlotte Smith and Diane Hoffman and her husband, Hugh, all of McSherrystown, Loretta Weaver of Gettysburg and Carlin Thomas and her husband, Dale, of Littlestown, as well as a large extended family of nieces and nephews and their families.



The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1pm Monday, August 5, 2013 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 220 Third Street, Hanover, with The Rev. John D. Schmalhofer serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in Conewago Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a viewing from 6 to 8 pm Sunday evening at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with the rosary being recited at 8pm.
