Nadine V. Crooks

Nadine V. Crooks, 91, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care Saturday, September 11, 2010 at her home.



Born January 16, 1919 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Charles A. and Arabelle May Deatrick Eltz. She was also preceded in death by her husband of more than 64 years, Victor K. Crooks, who died in 2002; a daughter, Barbara Crooks Nickey; and a brother, James D. Eltz.



Mrs. Crooks was a 1937 graduate of Eichelberger High School, a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, and the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks Hanover Lodge #763 Auxiliary. She enjoyed shopping, playing cards, dancing and Big Band music.



Survivors include her son, Victor K. Crooks, II and his wife, Lorene, of Hanover; four grandchildren, Edwin S. Nickey, II and his wife Kim, Kimberly Stangle and her husband Timothy, Billie C. Hagan and her husband Justin, and Jacob M. Crooks; five great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Edwin S. Nickey; and a sister-in-law, Marie Eltz of Hanover.



The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Peg Grzelkowski officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Edwin S. Nickey, Edwin S. Nickey, II, Jacob M. Crooks , Edwin S. Nickey, III, Kevin C. Nickey, and Justin Hagan.



The family will receive friends 6-8:00 PM Tuesday and 10-11:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
