Nadine G. Brown, 99, of Hanover, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Homewood at Plum Creek.
Born on Wednesday, September 18, 1918 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Guy R. and Amy Fair Goodfellow. She was also preceded in death by her husband W. Edgar Brown, who died in 1982; a brother, Guy F. Goodfellow; a daughter-in-law, Anne Little Brown; and an infant grandson, Robert A. Yoder.
Nadine graduated in 1936 from Hanover High School and in 1940 from Dickinson College. She went on to attend Pierce Business School in Philadelphia and later retired from the Law Office of Harry C. Stonesifer in 1984, after 27 years of faithful service. After her retirement, she volunteered at the Hanover Red Cross Food Bank. A lifelong member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Nadine served as a former Kindergarten Sunday School teacher, Deacon, Elder, secretary of Consistory, and president of the Women of Trinity. She was also a co-leader of the Trinity Girl Scout Troop #718 and in 1963, helped lead the troop on a three week tour of Europe where they camped at the International Girl Scout Chalet in Adelboden, Switzerland.
Survivors include a daughter, Judith Yoder and her husband, William, of Souderton; a son, Kenneth Brown of Fairport, NY; six grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Homewood Chapel at Plum Creek, 425 Westminister Avenue, Hanover with The Rev. Dr. Joel B. Hummel officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nadine’s memory to the Century Trust Fund of Trinity United Church of Christ, 116 York Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
