Myrtle E. Shearer, 105, of Hanover, died peacefully on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Columbia Cottage.
Born on January 23, 1907 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Isaac J. and Annie Ebersol Brendle and wife of the late Credon Shearer, who died in 1971. She was also preceded in death by a son, Lealand Shearer, two brothers, Harry and Walter Brendle and two sisters, Irene Ernst and Louise Heagy.
She had been employed by Middleburg Manufacturing for 43 years. After which, she began selling flowers on her front porch on Centennial Avenue and later opened and operated Shearer’s Florist for many years.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Troy Shearer, Yolanda Shuler and her husband, Harry and Douglas Shearer and his wife, Maryann, all of Hanover; five great-grandsons, Nicholas, Joseph, Cameron and Michael Shearer and Matthew Shuler and several nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, there will be a graveside service at 10 am on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Marburg Memorial Gardens, 2510 Grandview Road with The Rev. Kenneth S. Heasley officiating.
