Mykel Joe Shepherd, Jr., 6, ran into God’s eternal care on Thursday, September 24, 2020 from his earthly home in Hanover.
Born on Friday, July 11, 2014 in Hanover, he was the son of Jessica Shepherd and Mykel J. Shepherd; and step-son of Ian Deardorff, all of Hanover. Mykel was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He loved watching Disney’s “Frozen” and spending time with his dog Junior Joker.
In addition to his parents and step-father, Mykel is survived by a half-sister, Lindsay Few; a half-brother, Matthew Few, and their adopted mom, Carol Few, all of New Oxford; maternal grandparents, Linda Danella of East Liverpool, OH and Ronald Welsh of Ravenna, OH; paternal grandparents, Lisa Cluster of New Oxford and David Shepherd of Hanover; a maternal great-grandmother, Jean Stombaugh of Tenn.; paternal great-grandparents, Franklin D.R. Cluster and Betty Lou Cluster of Glen Rock; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and an “honorary Nanny”, Tammy Ritchie.
The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held from 6 to 8 PM Monday, September 28, 2020 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover.
In compliance with health and public safety directives, those attending the viewing and funeral will be required to socially distance and wear masks.
