Michael Eugene “Mike” Berwager, 71, of Hanover, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 12, 2021 while at his home.
Born on Tuesday, October 24, 1950 he was a son of Marjorie A. Zentz Berwager, of Hanover, and the late Ivan H. Berwager, Sr. He is also preceded in death by infant twin brothers, James and Ray, who died at birth.
A graduate of Spring Arbor University in Spring Arbor, MI, he also attended Eastern Seminary in Philadelphia and worked as a supervisor at Unilever, formerly Hanover Klondike until retirement. Mike was the primary caregiver to his mother with a loving and devoted spirit until the day of his homegoing. He served as an elder, teacher and counselor while attending Genesis Church in York, PA. He enjoyed singing, playing trombone, and riding motorcycle.
In addition to his mother, survivors include seven siblings, Ivan Berwager, Jr. with his wife Theresea, Bonnie Berwager Smith with her husband Mark, Stephen Berwager, Thomas Berwager with his wife Debra, Timothy Berwager with his wife Sheri, Gloria Berwager Brabham with her husband Herbert, and Deborah Berwager Miller with her husband Kevin; 13 nieces and nephews; and beloved friends, Timothy Marquiss and Al Butkovich, along with countless others.
A funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Genesis Church located at 1405 Seven Valleys Road, York, PA with Pastors Bob Tome and Larry Katz officiating. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.
