Mearl E. Bange, 87, of Spring Grove, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Hanover Hall Nursing & Rehabilitation.
Born on Thursday, July 16, 1936 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Edward L. and Grace I. Wonder Bange. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Betty Barthold Bange, who died in 2015; a son, Joel Bange; four sisters, Miriam Myers, Martha Houser, Roseanna Landis and Janet White; and a brother, Melvin Bange.
Mearl was a former employee of Hanover Foods and later retired from CJ Miller after more than 15 years of service. He proudly served his country as a member of the Army National Guard and was an active member of God’s Missionary Church of Hanover. He enjoyed farming and working in his yard, and loved everything John Deere.
Survivors include his son, Benjamin Bange and his wife, Heather; a daughter, Gwendolan Harman and her husband, Jeff; five grandchildren, Addison, Raelynn and Caleb Bange, Amber Buchkoski and Travis Harman; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sylvia Malehorn and Kathryn Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at God’s Missionary Church of Hanover with The Rev. Barry L. Sweitzer, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in York Road Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a viewing at the church one hour prior to the service.
