Services:

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Friday, August 28, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church by The Rev. Joseph F. Gotwalt and The Rev. Lawrence J. McNeil. Burial will follow in the Conewago Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation: A viewing will be held from 6 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover, and one hour prior to the service at the church. A Rosary Service will be said at 8:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Mary Ann T. Carbaugh Stremmel, 82, of Hanover, suddenly entered into God’s eternal care Monday, August 24, 2009 at Hanover Hospital.Born June 10, 1927 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late William U. and Salome B. Rutter Carbaugh. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Lester “Bud” Stremmel who died May 29, 2005. She was also preceded in death by six brothers, Clinton, Mark, George, Bernard, Warren and an infant brother “Harry” who died at birth, and four sisters, Josephine C. Wierman, Geraldine Kaehler, Helen Carbaugh and Sister Geneva Marie Carbaugh, SSJ.Mrs. Stremmel was employed by Snyder’s of Hanover, Inc., but spent most of her life dedicated to her family as a loving mother and grandmother. She was a 1946 graduate of Delone High School and was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.Survivors include her three daughters, Salome Hohf and her husband Brad, Martha Stremmel and Celeste Hartlaub, all of Hanover; four grandsons, Shane and Trent Hohf and Austin and Cole Hartlaub; a sister, Patricia Batoha of Hanover and two brothers, Joseph and Ralph Carbaugh, both of CA.
