Mary Catherine Groft, 81, formerly of Hanover entered into God's eternal care Saturday morning, November 24, 2007 at the home of her son Jamie L. Groft in Port St. Lucie, FL where she had lived for more than three years. She was the wife of the late Norman C. Groft who died April 7, 2007. Born in Hanover on August 9, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Annie M. Palmer Reck. Mrs. Groft had been a Beautician at the Vogue Beauty Salon for 20 years until her retirement in 1970. She graduated from Eichelberger High School with the class of 1944. Mrs. Groft was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover. In addition to her son Jamie and his wife Keely, she is survived by a daughter Joy E. Neiderer and her husband Michael A. of Queenstown, MD, two grandchildren Misti Shaffer and her husband Brian, Dr. Michael Neiderer and his wife Kate, three great grandchildren, Michaela Shaffer, Joshua Shaffer and Lily Catherine Neiderer. A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday morning at Rest Haven Cemetery, Westminster Ave., Hanover There will be no viewing. The Rev. Dr. Daniel M. Yeiser will officiate. Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 West Chestnut St., Hanover, PA 17331.
