Mary Trudelle (Finnerty) Howser, 87, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Homewood at Plum Creek.
Born on Wednesday, December 27, 1933 in Omaha, NE, she was a longtime resident of Ellicott City, MD. Mary was a daughter of the late Logan and Florence Lowry Finnerty, and was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Edward E. Howser, Jr., who died in 2011; a sister, Patricia Conroy; a brother, Cy Finnerty; and a grandson, Joseph Howser.
A 1952 graduate of Mount St. Agnes High School in Baltimore, she worked as a bank teller and took great pride in her dedication as a volunteer helping the unborn and their mothers. Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hanover and enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach, painting, drawing and baking for her family. She will be long remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and was always a gracious host to her family, friends and visitors.
Survivors include her four children, Mary Patricia (Bill) Harrison of Fulton, MD, Edward (Lisa) Howser, III of Ellicott City, MD, Thomas (Donna) Howser of Cumberland, MD, and Michael (Trish) Howser of Hanover; six grandchildren, Chip Harrison, Amanda Radtke, Lauren Steele-Worsham, Chelsey Donovan, Eric Howser, and Logan Howser; three great-grandchildren, Ava, Sophie and Madilyn; and a sister, Ann Finnerty of Gig Harbor, WA.
The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held from 6 to 8:00PM Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover. A prayer service will follow at 8:00PM. The family will also receive friends Thursday September 9, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at the Slack Funeral Home, P.A., 3871 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21043. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday September 10th at 10:30 a.m., at St. Paul Catholic Church, 3755 St. Paul St., Ellicott City, MD 21043. Interment Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Marriottsville, MD.
