Mary G. Bollinger, 90, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Monday, September 24, 2012, at her home surrounded by family.


Born August 5, 1922 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Isaac and LeRue McNew Golden. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Roy Bollinger, Jr., who died in 2007; two infant daughters; and two sisters, Ann and Ethel.


Mrs. Bollinger was a 1940 graduate of Chambersburg High School. During World War II, she worked in the office at the Naval Ordnance Plant and later in life was employed at Sears and Roebuck for many years. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and was active with the youth group. She enjoyed vacationing with her family at the beach, as well as gardening and working in her yard. She loved her pets and will be missed by her beloved Shih Tzu, Chloe.


Survivors include her son, Roy Bollinger, III and his wife, Jill, of York; two daughters, Janice Bollinger of Hanover and Sue Bollinger Hoffman of Dover; one sister, Norma Martin of Fayetteville, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.


A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, September 29, 2012 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover, with The Rev. Kate Schroeder officiating. The family will receive friends at the church 12:30-1:00 pm on Saturday and at a reception immediately following the service. Burial will be held privately in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
