Services: A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Dr. Bruce Bouchard officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation: There will be no public viewing.
Mary L. Berkheimer, 91, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Hanover Hospital.Born on January 31, 1918 in York County, she was a daughter of the late Claude Rohrbaugh and Mamie A. Rohrbaugh Runkle. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Norman Berkheimer who died in 1983, her beloved daughter, Judith A. Myers, a brother, Clair “Shorty” Rohrbaugh and a sister, Mildred Shrader.She had been employed by Hanover Shoe for many years before working for Auto Kraft Box, Inc. She then enrolled in beauty school and later owned her own company, The Fashionette Beauty Salon on Center Square in the 1960’s. In the 1970’s, she was employed by Malcolm Spinning Mill before retiring in 1981 from Sheridan Press.She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ for many years, and was active with both the Hanover Home Association and the McSherrystown Moose.Survivors include her three grandchildren, Scott K. Myers of Hanover, David A. Myers and his wife Michele of Mars, and Susan L. Nelson and her husband Daryl of Dillsburg; four great-grandsons; a son-in-law, R. Kenneth Myers of Hanover; a niece, Sally A. Cornbower and her husband Ron of Hanover; a nephew, Frank “Toot” Shrader and his wife Linda of New Oxford and a great-niece, Selene Minsinger and her husband Jake of Hanover
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Guthrie Memorial Library, 2 Library Place, Hanover, PA 17331.
