Marvin E. Knight, 89, of Hanover, beloved husband of Elizabeth “Betty” Mae Knight, entered into God’s eternal care on Monday, December 2, 2024 at his home on the Knight Family Farm.
Born on Friday, August 27, 1935 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Arthur Earl Knight and Anna May Messanger Knight. As the last survivor of his generation, he was also preceded in death by his siblings; a son, Robbie Knight; and a grandson, Kenzie Knight. Marvin will be remembered as a hard worker throughout his life. He had a great passion for farming, having owned Knight Family Farm. In addition to farming, Marvin also worked a full time job at the JE Baker Company in York. He attended Bethel United Church of Christ and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose No. 227 in Hanover.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 66 years, are six children, Joseph Knight and his wife, Debra, of Littlestown, Timmy Knight of Hampstead, MD, Penny Webb of Wrightsville, Ken Knight and his wife, Bonnie, of Abbottstown, Marvin Knight, Jr. of Hanover, and Jason Knight of Hanover; 13 grandchildren, Whitney, Melanie, Daniel, Shantal, Timmy, Jesse, Robert, Ricky, Nicole, Angel, Dustin, Darrin, Brian, and April; 22 great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Cindy, Kimmy, Paris, Khrixis, Serayah, Liam, Arya, Zoe, Jaxson, Faith, Lexis, Arianna, Chayanne, Gabriela, Dakota, Kassy, Charlotte, Coltlon, LilyRose, Lily, and Riley.
A funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Bethel United Church of Christ, 2112 Yingling Drive in Spring Grove. Burial will follow in Marburg Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
