Marie J. Wagner, 73, of Hanover, wife of Larry L. Wagner, died unexpectedly surrounded by her family and went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 30, 2010 at Hanover Hospital.
Born on April 7, 1937 in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Charles L. and Eunice Hahn Wildasin. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Randy Wagner and Larry Wagner, Jr. and a brother, Dennis Wildasin. She worked on the family’s farm and raised their children in a loving and supportive home. Marie enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, cooking and had a love for cats and their dog, Prince.
In addition to her husband of 53 years, she is survived by five sons, Stanley Wagner and his wife Sarah of Glenville, Leon Wagner and his friend, Teresa of Bonneauville, Wayne Wagner and his fiancé, Lori Bish of Gettysburg, Kevin Wagner, Sr. and his wife, Melissa and Rick Wagner; a daughter, Rena Bankert and her husband, Dean, all of Hanover; 13 grandchildren, Travis, Andrew, Justin, Daniel, Kevin Jr., Dallas, Tyler, Hunter, Shane, Sylvia, Leanna, Kristin and Rebekah; five great-grandchildren, T.J., Isacc, Kylie, Braiden and Mesha; and a brother Maynard Wildasin of Hanover.
The funeral will be held at 10 am Friday, September 3, 2010 at St. Paul’s (Dubs) United Church of Christ, where she was a life member. Her pastor, The Rev. Larry M. Estepp will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at a viewing will be held from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover.
