Maria A. Wolf

Maria A. Wolf, 85, of Hanover, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Providence Place in Dover following a period of declining health.



Born on December 21, 1927 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Harry H. and Emily Smith Myers and wife of nearly 60 years to the late Raymond T. Wolf, who died in 2009. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Eleanor Smith, Martha Robison and Susan Mackerell.



She was a 1946 graduate of Eichelberger High School. She enjoyed singing with the Hanover Community Singers and the St. Matthew Lutheran Church choir, where she was a member. Crafty and skillful with her hands, she spent hours crocheting and knitting. She found solace in the cottage that her father and his friends built in the 1920’s at Dick’s Dam.



She is survived by three daughters, Jeanette Miller and her husband, Dale, Patricia Lenick and her husband, David, all of Hanover, and Christine Zanowiak of Millersville; two sons, Lawrence Wolf and his wife, Karen of Hanover and Jeffrey A. Wolf of Dover; 13 grandchildren, Mark, Matthew and Heidi Miller, Heather Coffman, Nathan, Michael, Jimmy and Christopher Lenick, Jordan Lenick Keith, Gregory Zanowiak and Ryan, Justin and Corey Wolf; three great-grandchildren, Kiana, Brodie and Noah Miller with a fourth great-granddaughter due in March; one sister, Barbara Rosazza of Avondale; two brothers, Henry Myers of Mechanicsburg and John Myers of Farmington, NM and numerous nieces and nephews.



The funeral will be held at 10 am Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with The Rev. Faye Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a viewing from 6 to 8 pm Monday at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover.
