Margaret Mary Yaede, 76, of Hanover, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Hanover Hall following a battle with cancer.
Born on June 24, 1935 in New York, NY, she was the only child of the late Michael J. and Bridget O’Keefe O’Callaghan. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Hunter College in 1960 and taught in parochial schools before spending her career in the elementary schools of the Lakeland (NY) School District. She retired in 1994 following 34 years as an educator.
A member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Manchester, MD, she was an avid reader with a charitable heart. Dedicated to her family and her friends, she was a genuinely happy and friendly lady.
Survivors include her son, Michael Yaede and his wife, Lauren, of Manchester, MD; a daughter, Christine Grasser and her husband, Mike, of Glenville; four grandchildren, Katie, Hannah, Connor and Jessie; and her best friend, Sandra Greene of Hanover.
The Requiem Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, January 20, 2012 at St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, 2930 Hanover Pike, Manchester with The Rev. Michael J. Roach serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at 2:30 pm at Marburg Memorial Gardens, 2510 Grandview Road, Hanover. The family will receive friends at a viewing from 3 to 5 pm and from 7 to 9 pm Thursday at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover.
