Margaret Mary Spangler, 79, of York, entered into God’s eternal care on Friday, August 29, 2014 at York Hospital following a period of declining health.
Born on September 17, 1934 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Joseph H. and Mary E. Roth Aumon and wife of the late Ronald L. Spangler, who died in 1999. She was also preceded in death by a brother, James Aumon.
A 1952 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, she was employed by the York County Elections Office for many years before her retirement in 1995. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, the AARP, and the Hanover Elks Lodge BPOE Lodge #763. Her family was the main focus in her life and she enjoyed spending time with her sisters, her daughters and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three daughters, Deborah Cavanaugh and her husband, David, Catherine Schuchart and her husband, Jon, all of York and Julie Fordney and her husband, David of Cypress, TX; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter and two sisters and their families, Jean Eckard and Mary Aumon, both of Hanover.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Saturday, September 6, 2014 at St. Vincent de Paul Church with The Rev. John D. Schmalhofer serving as celebrant. Burial will be held in Holy Savior Cemetery, York at 2 pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
