Mae A. Hagerman Bankert, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care Friday, August 26, 2011 at Hanover Hospital.



Born in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late George E. and Esther Spaulding Hagerman, and was the wife of 57 years to the late Leroy C. Bankert, who died in 2003. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Marchio and Catherine Hagerman. Mrs. Bankert was a member of the Sacred Heart Basilica and enjoyed traveling to Arizona and Ocean City, MD, as well as doing volunteer work.



Survivors include her daughter, Victoria J. “Vicky” DePinto and her husband, Joseph, of Fort Mill, SC; a son, Stephen E. “Steve” Bankert of Chandler, AZ; a sister, Yvonne C. Fuhrman and her husband, Glenn, of Hanover; three grandchildren, Robin Theisen, Christopher DePinto and Nicole Kerr; and two great-grandchildren.



A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, September 1, 2011 at the Sacred Heart Basilica, 30 Basilica Drive, Hanover with The Rev. Lawrence J. McNeil serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery in McSherrystown. The family will receive friends at a viewing one hour prior to the service at the church.



In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sweet Charities Cancer Patient Fund; PMB 154 Suite #5; 1150 Carlisle Street; Hanover, PA 17331.
