M. Steven Trostle, 65, of York, entered into God’s eternal care on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at his home following an eight year battle with cancer.
Born on Saturday, August 15, 1953 in Hanover, he was a son of Joseph D. Caler, Jr. and Mary Trish Caler, and William Basil Trostle. A 1973 graduate of South Western High School, he retired as a supervisor with Eisenhart Wallcovering where he had worked for many years. An avid outdoorsman, Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing and hiking. He took great pleasure in vacationing at the Outer Banks and Beaufort, SC and going to the hunting camp with his buddies. Steve always had a smile on his face and would lighten any room with his laughter; he will be greatly missed.
Survivors include a son, Andrew S. Trostle and his companion, Katie Miller, of Hanover; two grandchildren, Addyson Trostle and Andrew Steven “Moose” Trostle, Jr.; five siblings, William Trostle and his wife, Wendy, of Spring Grove, Kathryn Myers and her husband, William, of Glenville, Daniel Caler and his wife, Brenda, of Hanover, Laurie Wagaman of Littlestown, and Andrew Caler and his wife, Robin, of Hanover; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 11 AM Monday, November 5, 2018 at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Revs. Kevin and Cindy Orewiler officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 PM on Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
