Lourdes Ramos Baez

Lourdes Ramos Baez, 67, of Dover, died Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at her home.

Born on Friday, March 16, 1956 in Rincon, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Reyes Ramos and Felicita Baez Lopez. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Daisy Joann Torres Ramos; and a brother, Samuel “Tato” Ramos. Lourdes received a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from the Mayaguez University in Puerto Rico and retired from the US Government where she was a Customs Border Patrol Agent, a job she enjoyed and was completely devoted to. In her spare time, she loved to volunteer for various organizations, but her greatest joy was caring for her family. She was a member of St. Patrick Church in York.

Lourdes was a hero to her daughter, Johana Ramos; and is also survived by two granddaughters, Johanny Marie Torres Ramos and Celeste Joann Torres Ramos; siblings, Reyes "Junior" Manuel Ramos Baez, all of Bronx, NY, Nilda “Tita” Planas of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Hiram Ramos Baez of Rincon, PR, Maria “Magi” Desa of Orlando, FL, Nilsa “Tati” Gomez of Reading, PA.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 16, 2023 at St. Patrick Church, 219 S. Beaver Street, York, PA 17401. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM at the church.
