Louise Bemiller

Louise Bemiller, 94, of Hanover, wife of the late Richard (Dick) Bemiller who died in 2008, entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Homewood at Plum Creek.

Born on Saturday, October 18, 1919 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Grover C. and Lulu Spangler Hesson. In addition to her loving husband of 66 years, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Clyde Hesson. She was a 1937 graduate of Eichelberger High School and was employed at Columbia Gas until her retirement after 36 years of service.

Mrs. Bemiller was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, York St., where she was a member of Lutheran auxiliary. She was also a member of the YW Wives Club, the Hanover chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and Hanover Elks BPOE #763 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a self taught organist, lover of music and enjoyed playing cards. No need to read music notes, she heard a song once and could then play it by ear. She was a volunteer organist at the Homewood Chapel.

Survivors include her daughter; Brenda A. Leese and husband, Laverne, of Littlestown; two granddaughters, Julie Olive and her husband, Greg, of Greensboro, NC and Molly Nece and her husband, Dan, of West Chester, PA; two great-grandsons; Matthew Olive and Tyler Nece; and her sister; Thelma Bollinger, of New Oxford, PA.

Per Louise’s wishes, a private service will be held with The Rev. Joel B. Hummel officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Louise’s name to the Homewood at Plum Creek Benevolence Fund, 425 Westminster Avenue, Hanover, PA 17331.
