Lois Mcclarin I

Lois McClarin Revi, 91, of Hanover, entered God’s eternal care Saturday April 27, 2024 at UPMC Hanover, following a brief illness.

Born May 25, 1932, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of Cecil Gohl McClarin and Katherine Lois Malcolm McClarin. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Christian Revi.

A graduate of the Baldwin School class of 1951, she entered college studies at Brown University and later the University of Pennsylvania, completing her Bachelors degree in education and later her Masters from Temple University.

Lois served as a censor for ABC in NYC for three years after college. She was one of three people who approved the programming that was broadcast on the station. She spent many years in academia, teaching and counseling at York Country Day, Eichelberger (later Hanover) High School, Lower Merion Senior High School and York College. She loved working with children and young adults. Lois had a penchant for selling real estate with ERA Properties locally, finding old homes with character and matching them with clients interested in their histories. She was a voracious reader in her spare time, following current events and participating in many book clubs. She travelled extensively with her mother and friends, her favorite were trips to St. Petersburg and Vienna.

Lois was an equestrian for much of her life, a love cultivated by her grandfather. She adored her ponies and competed throughout her school years. Lois rode in Hanover's War Bond Parade alongside Hedy Lamarr, with whom she later dined at the Hanover Country Club.

She loved dogs and had many wonderful companions throughout the years, from her Portuguese water dogs to her most recent rescue, her beloved Emma.

Lois cherished her friendships and would always place her friends’ needs above her own, investing countless hours in phone calls, emails, and thoughtful gestures. She was a wise and trusted confidante and a generous counsel. Her unselfish heart, sharp wit and fiery personality will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Not one for funeral services, Lois would have much preferred a party. A celebration of her life will be held on May 21st from 4-6pm at Highland Taps & Tables, 925 Westminster Ave. in Hanover. There will be a private interment at the convenience of the family.
