Lois E. Brandt

Lois E. Brandt, 94, of Hanover, beloved wife of Frederick V. Brandt, entered into God’s eternal care on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Spiritrust Lutheran, The Village at Gettysburg.

Born on Friday, August 23, 1929 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late John Leroy and Ethel Harbaugh Markle. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Gerald, Glenn, and Victor Markle. Lois was a long time member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church on York Street. She worked as a secretary for St Paul’s Lutheran Church on Broadway for many years, and also worked as a secretary for Columbia Gas. Lois enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, reading, and enjoyed listening to classical music.

Surviving, in addition to her husband of 67 years, are two children, Allan Brandt and his wife, Lisa, and Joyce Smith and her husband, Lance; one brother, Leon Markle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at St Paul’s Lutheran Church on York Street in Hanover. Burial will follow in Marburg Memorial Gardens.
