Linda J. Gibson, 72, of Hanover, beloved wife of Gary R. Gibson, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at her home.
Born on Saturday, April 28, 1951 in Baltimore, she was a daughter of the late Charles Frederick and Lorraine Joan Donnelly Smith. She was a retired executive assistant with Black & Decker and later worked for the Lincoln Intermediate Unit in that same position. Linda was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed reading, gardening, exercising, kayaking and walking. Moreover, she was a most kind hearted person who did things in an extraordinary way. She was a compassionate, caring person who always put others first. Linda’s greatest passion was spending time with family and would gladly travel distances to be with her grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to Gary, her husband of nearly 50 years, are two daughters, Carrie E. Gibson of York and Ocean City, MD and Lauren R. Davey and her husband, Michael Davey, V, of Chadds Ford, PA; two grandchildren, Michael Davey, VI and Giuliana Davey; two sisters, Sharon Kraus and her husband, Wayne, of Glen Arm, MD and Anne Hicks of Johnson City, TN; a sister-in-law, Dale Bauer and her husband, Jerry, of Baltimore; a brother-in-law, Barry Gibson and his wife, Nancy, of Ellicott City, MD; loving niece and nephews, Stacy Yeager and her husband, Josh, Justin Kraus and his wife, Christianna, Douglas Kraus, and Wayne and Brian Boles; and four great nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 20, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road in Hanover. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
