Colonel Leroy D. Good (USAF Retired), 90, husband of Jewell Outlaw Good, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Cross Keys Village---The Brethren Home Community.
Born on September 11, 1920 in Plumville, PA, he resided in Brogue, PA before moving to New Oxford last year. Serving his entire career with the United States Air Force, he flew over 20 different planes during career as an Air Force pilot. He served during World War II and the Korean War, and later served with the Air Force Systems Command, retiring in 1971 following 29 years of service to his country.
He was a member of the VFW Post # 1446 in Red Lion and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
In addition to his wife of 57 years, he is survived by a daughter, Janet Ann Good and her husband, David Addis of Arlington, TX; a grandson, Thomas Chiarizia and his wife, Lee Ann, of Smithsburg, MD and a great-granddaughter, Kathryn Rose Chiarizia. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Chiarizia.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Kenneth S. Heasley officiating. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors at a later date.
