Leona H. Baughman, 94, entered into God’s eternal care on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Baughman was a former resident of Gettysburg and Hanover and had lived in the Gilliland Manor Personal Care Residence at the Green Ridge Village Senior Living Community in Newville, PA for several years prior to her admission to the hospital. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin E. and Ora M. Stoner, and was also preceded in death by three husbands, Robert A. McIntyre, Sr., Melvin E. Burton, and Eugene E. Baughman; a daughter, Donna McIntyre Sease; her step father, Paul Dare Phillips; a brother, Clifford E. Stoner; two sisters, Freda Marie Stoner Griffith Ritz Ruppenthal, Mildred Rosalie Stoner Williams; and a half sister Clare Phillips Phleeger Smith Goyt. She was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ in Hanover.
Her deeply felt compassion for animals was well known and evidenced by the many years of enjoyment she received through personal pets and association with animals and clients who successfully completed her animal companionship classes which enabled them to bond with, and understand, the respective needs of each other.
Survivors include three children, Clifford L. McIntyre, Denise McIntyre Fisher and Robert A. McIntyre, Jr.; four step-children, Jan Baughman, Steve Baughman, Donna Kopp, and James Harman; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A private service for the family is planned.
