Larry L. Weaver, 84, of Hanover, loving husband of Nadine Wentz Weaver, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at home surrounded by his family.
Born on Thursday, April 21, 1938 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Milton and Pauline Hoffacker Weaver. A 1956 graduate of Eichelberger High School, Larry worked at Bittinger’s Market in Hanover as a meat cutter for 14 years and later retired in 1993 from PH Glatfelter after 28 years of service. He was a member of St. David’s United Church of Christ and enjoyed going to antique car shows, listening to Bluegrass music and just staying busy by working around the house. Above all, Larry’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 65 years, is a son, Robert Weaver and his companion, Vicki Dettinger, of Spring Grove; a daughter, Sherri Wildasin and her husband, Bob, of Hanover; five grandchildren, Monica Klunk, Deidre Weaver, and Bobby, Tia and Hailey Wildasin; a great-granddaughter, Hadlee Klunk; a brother, Fred Weaver of Hanover. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death three brothers, Milton Weaver, Jr., Merle Weaver and William Weaver; and one sister, Jean Snyder.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 1, 2022 at St. David’s United Church of Christ, 142 Hobart Road in Hanover with The Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. Burial will follow in St. David’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends at viewings at the church from 6 to 8:00 PM Wednesday and 10 to 11:00 AM Thursday.
