Larry E. Topper
Larry E. Topper, 74, loving husband of Shirley J. Slothour Topper, passed away peacefully at his home in Hanover on Monday, July 8, 2013.
Born January 8, 1939 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Raymond L. and Helen Yingling Topper, and was also preceded in death by his ten brothers and sisters. In 1997, he retired from the Borough of Hanover Public Works Department where he had been employed for many years.
Mr. Topper was a life member of the Eagle Fire Company #2 of the Hanover Fire Department. Skilled with his hands, he was an avid woodworker. He enjoyed traveling, vacationing with his family at Disney World and boating at Lake Marburg.
Surviving, in addition to his wife with whom he recently celebrated 56 years of marriage, are three children, Wayne E. Topper and his wife, Deka, of Hanover, Donna E. Spangler and her husband, Bill, of McSherrystown, and Pamela K. Topper of Hanover; three grandchildren, David Topper, Christopher Topper and Stephanie Fuhrman all of Hanover; three great-grandchildren, Madison, Lance and Emily; and many nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, the service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice of Hanover & Spring Grove, 440 N. Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
