Larry L. Rummel, Sr., 67, of Glenville, husband of Ina Stambaugh Rummel, died unexpectedly following a single vehicle accident on Monday, December 16, 2013 in Glenville.

Born on December 7, 1946 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Orville W. and Betty Jacoby Rummel. He was a former employee of Utz Quality Foods and Amp, Inc. and most recently was employed by Allied Rods until his retirement in 1988.

He was a member of St. Pauls (Dubs) United Church of Christ and the Penn-Mar Radio Club. He also held memberships with the Hanover Moose LOOM # 227, the Hanover Home Association, the Hanover Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie # 1406, the McSherrystown Home Association, the Republican Club, the New Oxford Social Club and the Hanover VFW Post 2506. A lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, horseback riding and vacationing to the mountains in Lycoming County. He had a green thumb in the garden and raised rabbits and horses.

In addition to his wife of 48 years, he is survived by a daughter, Lisa Jane Rummel and her fiancé, Gene Dunn of Allport; two sons, Larry Rummel, Jr. and Tony Rummel, both of Glenville; four grandchildren, Julian, Dustin and Amanda Rummel and Tiffany Dunn; three great-grandchildren, Jayden, Kayden and Kaylee; two brothers, Ronald Rummel and his wife, Judy of Hanover and Donald Rummel and his wife, Brenda of Spring Grove; two sisters, Sharon Laughman and her husband, Howard of Glenville and Donna Sprenkle and her husband, William of Seven Valleys and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one nephew, Todd Rummel.

The funeral will be held at 10 am Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Larry M. Estepp officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s (Dubs) Church Cemetery with Larry Jr, Tony, Julian, Dustin and Ronald Rummel, Gene Dunn and William Noel serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday evening at the funeral home.
