Kenneth S. Stambaugh, 85, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Homewood at Plum Creek.



Born July 19, 1924 in Porters Sideling, he was a son of the late Norman B. and Lottie Edna Miller Stambaugh, and was also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Helen M. Stambaugh, who died in 2006. Mr. Stambaugh retired from the former York International after more than 35 years of service, and along with his wife raised gladiolas for over 25 years. He was a member of St. Paul’s (Dubs) United Church of Christ and served with the US Army’s 10th Mountain Division during World War II.



Survivors include his four children, Lyn Bergdoll, Connie Reever, and Bryan Stambaugh, all of York, and Christal DiVincent of Montville, NJ; one brother, Norman Stambaugh of Spring Grove; six grandchildren, Tyge Reever, David Buckler, Collin and Brandi DiVincent, and Kamryn and Sophie Stambaugh; and one great-grandson, Dylan Buckler.



The funeral will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 24, 2009 at St. Paul’s (Dubs) United Church of Christ with The Rev. Larry M. Estepp officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors rendered by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.



The viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
