Kenneth L. Coppersmith, 81, of Hanover, beloved husband of Elsie Heindel Coppersmith, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Hanover Hall Nursing Center surrounded by his family.
Born on Thursday, January 7, 1943 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Paul W. and Naomi Louey Coppersmith. A 1960 graduate of Eichelberger High School, he also attended York College. Kenneth will be long remembered as a hard worker having been employed at Black & Decker, Sears, Roebuck & Company and the Carroll Hospital Center until retiring in 2019. He was a member of New Hope Ministries, served as a Chief with the Indian Guides, was a member of the Rod Benders Car Club and enjoyed traveling and reading.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 61 years, are three sons, Brian Coppersmith and his wife, Gail, of Littlestown, Todd Coppersmith and his wife, Stacie, of New Oxford, and Tim Coppersmith and his wife, Tracey, of Hanover; five grandchildren, Matt, Mitch, Madison, Grace and Lily; five great-grandchildren, Rowan, Ridge, Blakeley, Charlotte and Norah; and a brother, Bill Coppersmith and his wife, Janet, of Florida.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 31, 2024 at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway in Hanover with Deacon Janice Davis officiating. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on Friday at the funeral home.
