Kathleen A. Wavle, 73, of Hanover, beloved wife of Ralph E. Walve, entered into God’s eternal care on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at UPMC Pinnacle Hanover.
Born on Tuesday, September 26, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA, she was the daughter of the late Walter Fred Grandal and Eleanor Regina Woodrick Grandal. She was a 1962 graduate of Brunswick High School in Brunswick, OH.
After 22 years of service with the Mercantile Bank and Trust in Annapolis, MD, she retired as the Vice President of Commercial Loans in 2002. Kathleen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she served on the Parish Council, was a Eucharistic Minister, and could be seen cooking for various events. While living in Annapolis, MD, she was a member of St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church where she also served as a Eucharistic Minister, and enjoyed cooking for church activities. She also taught confirmation classes and was a mentor to couples that were going to be married. In her spare time, Kathleen enjoyed reading, knitting and spending time with her family.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 51 years, are three children, Karen Lynn Hilton and her husband, Robert, of Easton, MD, Gregg Alan Wavle and his wife, Kristen, of Baltimore, MD, and Elizabeth Ann Miller and her husband, John, of Abingdon, MD; seven grandchildren, Alexandra M. Ramsey, Jessica N. Wood and her husband, C.J., Lauren E. Ramsey, Andrea M. Hilton, Rachel E. Miller, Brandon M. Miller and Jack R. Miller; a great-granddaughter, Emelia Kathleen Wood; and a brother, Walter F. Grandal, Jr. and his wife, Wendy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11 AM Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover with The Rev. Msgr. James M. Lyons celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends at viewings to be held from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 8pm on Monday.
