Services: A funeral service to remember and celebrate her life will be held 12 noon Tuesday, at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover.
Visitation: Viewing will be Monday evening 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Katherine M. Brewer Fuhrman, 106, of St. Joseph Village, McSherrystown, entered into God's eternal care 11:25 P.M. Friday evening, July 13, 2007 at The Brethren Home Community, New Oxford. She was the wife of the late Herbert T. Brewer who died May 12, 1943 and Charles R. Fuhrman who died December 3, 1981. Born in Baltimore, MD on April 3, 1901, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Sophia Hennick Holle. Following the loss of her first husband in 1943, and with 5 children to support and raise, Katherine went to work for the Bendix Friez Company in Towson, MD where she did her part for the war effort by serving as an Inspector of aircraft avionics during World War II. Upon relocating with her family to the Hanover area, she became an active member of the First United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Delta Alpha Sunday School Class. Mrs. Fuhrman was also a life member and past president of the Penn Township Lioness Club. She loved the beauty of nature, was a wonderful, caring and thoughtful mother, sister and grandmother who will be sadly missed by her daughters Ruth I. Church of McSherrystown, Carolyn M. Allen of Baltimore, Barbara E. Griffith of Glenville, sons Paul T. Brewer of Gettysburg, George D. Brewer of Abington, MD, 6 generations of grandchildren, and her sister Edith Parthree of Batlimore. She was also preceded in death by 3 daughters Katherine M. Schmidt, Dorothy M. Hess, Margaret M. Smith, two sons Herbert T. Brewer, John R. Brewer, 4 grandchildren, 3 stepchildren Howard Fuhrman, Kenneth Fuhrman, Helen Issenock, and a brother Gordon Holle. A funeral service to remember and celebrate her life will be held 12 noon Tuesday, at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover. Viewing will be Monday evening 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Paul's (Dubs) Cemetery. The Rev. Thomas Jacobs will officiate.
