Karen L. Williams, 55, of Littlestown, entered into God’s eternal care Friday, December 12, 2014 at her home.
Born Sunday, August 9, 1959 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Edward E. “Tom” and Shirley L. (Mather) Williams of Hanover. Karen was a licensed trainer of service dogs for nearly 20 years. She enjoyed writing and had an article published by Dr. Jane Goodall about her faithful companion and service dog, “Journey”, who preceded her in death. She loved being outdoors and going on hikes. Karen also took great pleasure in playing cards with family and friends.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, is a brother, Thomas E. “Tommy” Williams; a nephew, Jason Williams and his companion, Jennifer Brown; a niece, Jennifer Williams and her companion, Chris Frederick; a great-niece, Caitlyn; and a great-nephew, Gavin; many aunts, uncles and cousins; a special cousin who was like her sister, Linda Woody; and her beloved golden retrievers, “Prayer” and “Spirit”.
The funeral will be held at 11 am Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Joel B. Hummel officiating. A private family burial service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg, MD.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
