Karan S. Weiser Ott, 48, of New Oxford, peacefully passed from this life on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at York Hospital with her family by her side.
Born on November 18, 1961, she was a daughter of Betty and John Herman of New Oxford and the late Walter F. Weiser. Karan attended Gettysburg High School and was the head cake decorator for Walmart for many years. A very creative person, she spent time wood working and painting ceramics, selling her projects at a stand at the Farmer's Market for several years. She attended Covenant Life Church in Hanover, and enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and dirt track racing at Lincoln Speedway where she worked in the concessions.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her son, John Weiser of New Oxford; a daughter, Rachel Weiser of Abbottstown; two grandchildren, Brayden J. Weiser and Hannah N. Howey; a sister, Deborah Boyer of New Oxford; three brothers, Terry L. Miller of Dillsburg, Jeff Weiser of Mechanicsburg and Victor J. Weiser of Camp Hill, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc, 311 Broadway, Hanover with her pastor, Kenneth Martz, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Marburg Memorial Gardens with John Weiser, Andrew Messinger, Ronald Albright, Kevin Lenahan, Isaac Edmonson, Terry Miller and Dan Rill serving as her pallbearers. The viewing will be held from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
