Julianna M. Wright, 88, of York Springs, loving wife of Philip Wright, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Hanover.
Born on Saturday, February 15, 1930 in Czechoslovakia, she was a daughter of the late Johann and Anna Slaby Jaborek. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Marie Renz, Anni Gaussmann and Adolphine “Finny” Staub; a great-grandson, Krystjan Garza; and a nephew, Anthony Jury. A former employee of R.H. Sheppard and was a cook at the Hofbrauhaus for many years. Julianna was a member of Immaculate Conception Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in New Oxford, where she loved to help prepare turkey dinners. She will be long remembered for her delicious gravy.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 50 years, is a daughter, Elaine Craig of Hanover; a brother, Hans Jaborek and his wife, Joyce, of Virginia Beach, VA; four grandchildren, Heidi Burbank of Hanover, Krista and Jason Wentz, both of New Oxford, and Matthew Wentz of Hanover; seven great-grandchildren, Hope and Trinity Burbank, both of Hanover, Kaitlyn and Jordan Brown, Cami and Kyra Wentz, all of New Oxford, and Jason Wentz, Jr. of Frederick, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10 AM Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church with The Rev. Michael Letteer celebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held from 6 to 8:00 PM Monday at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover.
