Services: The funeral will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, October 24, 2008 at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway in Hanover with the Rev. Thomas R. Osenbach officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Homer Forbes, Jr., Jay Forbes, Joseph Slate, Joshua Slate, Nathan DeVita, Charles M. Keeports, Christopher Couch and Andrew Couch.
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Julia S. Reck Douglas, 88, of Red Lion, went home to be with her Father on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at York Hospital following a lengthy illness.Born in Hanover, PA on June 20, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Maurice and Mabel Stauffer Reck. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Joseph Miller, who died in 1980, a son, James M. Hoff, Jr, who died in 2008, a step-grandson, Jeffrey W. Douglas, II who died in 2004 and her eleven brothers and sisters.She had been employed by Hanover Wire and Keystone Wire Cloth, both of Hanover, PA and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Hanover VFW. She was a member of Bethlehem Stonepile United Methodist Church of Red Lion and enjoyed traveling with her husband and playing games with her friends. She devoted timeless energy and love to her family.Survivors include her husband of 27 years, William M. Douglas; a daughter, Dixie L. Forbes of Thomasville; a daughter-in-law, Susan Hoff of Plant City, FL; four step-children, Jeff Douglas and his wife Linda, of Parkland, FL, Bonita Keeports and her husband Richard, of York, Billee Couch and her husband Tim, of Dallastown, Stephen Douglas and his wife Teresa, of Red Lion; nine grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren, twenty grandchildren, eleven step-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.


Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 924 N. Colonial Ave, York, PA 17403 or to the Bethlehem Stonepile United Methodist Church, 250 Bethlehem Church Road, Red Lion, PA 17356.
