Judith A. “Judy” Mlinek, 71, of Elizabeth City, NC and formerly of Hanover, beloved wife of Dan Mlinek, entered into God’s eternal care on Monday, October 24, 2022 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Virginia Beach, VA.
Born on Monday, February 19, 1951 in Montpelier, VT, she was the daughter of the late John and Dora Boyce Campbell. A 1969 graduate of Vergennes Union High School in Vergennes, VT, Judy received her Bachelor’s degree from the College of Our Lady of the Elms, Chicopee, MA, in 1973. She retired in 2007 from the St. Columbia Catholic Church in Ottawa, IL, where she was a teacher. Judy was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hanover, where she participated in several organizations within the church and was a dedicated advocate for life issues.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 48 years, are three children, Christopher Mlinek and his wife, Rebecca, of Upperco, MD, Rebecca Scancella and her husband, Dante, of Hampstead, MD, and Andrew Mlinek of Elizabeth City, NC; two brothers, John Campbell and his wife, Kathy, of Cincinnati, OH and Dennis Campbell and his wife, Gail, of Burlington, VT; and ten grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday, October 28, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover by The Rev. Msgr. James M. Lyons. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends at viewings to be held 6 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover and from 10 to 11:00 AM Friday at the church.
