Judi Frock Bortner, 70, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at York Hospital.
Born on Monday, September 15, 1947 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late E.B. and Rebecca “Becky” Black Frock. She was also preceded in death by a brother, James W. Frock. A 1965 graduate of Eichelberger High School, Judi was the former owner of M.C. Nace. She loved lounging by her swimming pool and inviting friends and family over for picnics and enjoyable times. She took great pleasure in spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren, playing dominos, and teaching anyone who wanted to learn how to play.
A devoted lifelong member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Judi was involved in many church activities such as the Altar Guilde, Compassionate Crafters, Caring Committee, visiting shut-ins, volunteering with the church nursery, Sunday school, and vacation Bible school. She was also the Emmanuel Auxiliary Representative for Homewood at Plum Creek. Previously, she sang in the chancel choir, served on the church consistory, and was a part of the R2V committee. She was also a member of the Hanover Elks BPOE #763, Soroptimist International, and a former member of the Hanover Tennis Club.
Survivors include two sons, Chris A. Garrett, and Jim W. Garrett and his wife, Christine, all of Hanover; three grandchildren, Steven A., Seth W., and Eva Joy Garrett, all of Hanover; two brothers, Ed Frock and his wife, Jane, and Dan Frock and his wife, Joanne, all of Hanover; numerous nieces and nephews; and many good friends.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 3pm on Monday, February 5, 2018 at Emmanuel United Church of Christ with The Rev. Russell D. Clark officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
