Joyce Lee “Joy” Forbes, 75, of Hanover, beloved wife of James M. Forbes, began her journey at 1:45PM on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 to the other side where she will take up permanent residence and “keep everyone straight.”
Born on Wednesday, December 9, 1942 in Baltimore, she was a daughter of the late George Hasel Murray and Clara Maria Green Murray. She received her Master’s degree from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. In 1989, she retired from Baltimore County General Hospital after 22 years of service. Joy had the hope to open the doors to new realities for others to experience spiritual healing. Gifted with her hands, she enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 30 years, are two children, Darl Barnhill and his companion, Tammy Burnett, of Porter, TX and Robin Fraley and her husband, Martin, of Reisterstown, MD; four grandchildren, Theresa and Olivia Barnhill, and Kasey and Zachary Poole; and four great-grandchildren, Hailey and Brody Cook, and Kaelyn and Paetyn Fraley.
A gathering for family and friends will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover.
