Joyce A. Baumgardner
Joyce A. Baumgardner, 86, of Hanover, loving wife of Monroe L. Baumgardner, Jr., entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Hanover Hall Nursing Center.
Born on Tuesday, August 9, 1927 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Royal S. Dell, Sr. and Mabel E. Smith Dell, and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Baumgardner. Joyce was a 1945 graduate of Eichelberger High School and was a life member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, York Street, where she had served in various capacities.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 67 years, are four children, Thomas J. Baumgardner of York, Stephen D. Baumgardner of Blaine, MN, Ronald D. Baumgardner of Dillsburg, and Barbara Ann Wolf of Abbottstown; a sister, Vivian Housman of York; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 am Saturday, May 10, 2014 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, York Street, Hanover with The Rev. Robert E. Burkhart officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Nathan Baumgardner, Heather Bare, Amy Baumgardner, David Baumgardner, Tim Nailor and Sawyer Wolf.
The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held from 10 to 11 am Saturday in the church parlor.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 127 York Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
