Joy E. Laughead, 67, of Spring Grove, wife of Malcolm H. Laughead, Jr., died Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at her residence following a battle with cancer.
Born on Friday, February 21, 1947 in York, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Bernice Carr Hall. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Carol Klepper.
She attended William Penn Senior High School and was employed by SKF for 36 years before her retirement in 2010. She was a very intelligent woman with a lot to give others. She made a terrific home for her family and cheered on her favorite team, the Orioles.
In addition to her husband of 47 years, she is survived by two sons, Todd M. Laughead of Spring Grove and James H. Laughead of Iron Ridge; one grandson, Jeremy Laughead of Jefferson; three brothers, Robert Hall of York, Randy Hall and his wife, Debra of York and Ricky Hall and his wife, Alice of Havre de Grace, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held 10 am Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Larry Estepp officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s (Dubs) Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm Friday at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc.
