Joseph A. Wilt

Joseph A. Wilt, 68, of Glenville, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016 at York Hospital.
Born on Wednesday, February 6, 1948 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Llewellyn J. and Anna L. Hoover Wilt. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Wilt.
A 1966 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, he worked at P.H. Glatfelter for almost 40 years until his retirement at the age of 62. After graduating high school, he served 3 years in the United States Navy in the division of The Seabees and was a member of the VFW post 5265 of Spring Grove and of the Amvets post 22 of Hanover. Farming was his biggest passion and it brought him a lot of happiness and joy to be able to have done it all of his life. Joseph enjoyed activities like butchering pigs, collecting antiques and cars, and tinkering and painting a lot of the neat stuff that he would find in his travels. He always had a project and liked to be kept busy.
Survivors include two sons, Samuel Wilt and his wife, Annie, of Abbottstown and Thomas Wilt and his wife, Darlene, of Hanover; two daughters, Kimberly Myers and her husband, Jeremy, and Michelle Vogel and her husband, Matthew, both of Hanover; eight grandchildren, June, Everett, Travis, Logan, LeeAnn, Matthew II, Annabelle, and Emmet; one brother, Michael Wilt and his wife, Susan, of Spring Grove; and three sisters, Mary Dehoff and her husband, John, and Anna Lovett, and her husband, Lonnie, all of Spring Grove and Carolyn Trone of Hanover.
