Jon Peter Bredbenner, 49, husband of Kathleen Wentz Bredbenner of East Berlin, entered into God’s eternal care on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at his home following a two year illness.
Born on Wednesday, September 9, 1964 in Nesopeck, PA, he was the only child of the late Glen and Ruth Paden Bredbenner. Jon earned a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Penn State University and was employed by CH Reed, Inc. for more than 20 years. He was a member of Barts Centenary United Methodist Church in Littlestown and enjoyed playing the guitar.
An engaged parent, he participated in events with his daughter. While his daughter was young, he was involved with the Girl Scouts and when she was older, he was active with the New Oxford Band Boosters, where he served as Vice President. He was a therapeutic riding instructor for Shining Stars Therapeutic Ministries in Gettysburg and enjoyed being around the horses and the people that were assisted through that organization.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Christiana Bredbenner of Abbottstown and two step-sons, Dustin Bankert of Shippensburg and Brandon Bankert of East Berlin.
The memorial service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc. with Pastor Marvin Stanley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway; Hanover, PA 17331 to help assist the family with his final expenses.
